Louis DiNatale
In 2010 Nate Silver, the New York Times poll analyst, developed the first rating system for political pollsters whose work is published. Collecting 4,700 published political polls from around the country from 1998-2009 he created a Pollster Induced Error (PIE) index.

The UMass Poll, 1996-2006, founded and directed by Louis DiNatale, Principal Researcher for Princeton Research Associates, had the best PIE score in New England and was ranked as one of the best in the country. The ranking placed in league with CBS/NYT and CNN Lou’s work was rated higher than that of UNH/Boston Globe, Suffolk University/Ch 7, Fox/Opinion Dynamics, Zogby, and Quinnipiac.

As a Senior Fellow at the John W. McCormack Institute at the University of Massachusetts, Boston (today the McCormack School) Lou taught New England Political Environment in the Masters in Public Affairs Program and was the Director of the Center for State and Local Policy.
